Proctor Hill Farm Waterford and Willow Meadow Goldenrod left today for their new home at Proctor Hill Farm in Lunenburg. They are 8 weeks old and are such beautiful and friendly young goats. Bittersweet. We are happy that they have gone to such a great farm but we will miss them. Its a good thing that they are only about 2 miles down the road.
Today is day 120 for first-freshner Fairlea Nashoba. I gave her a lovely birthing haircut – gave her oral Ivermectin. Yesturday, vet, Dr, Kerri Mitton checked her out and instructed me in the art of goat injection. I gave her the Clostridium CD & Tetanus vaccine and the vitamin E & selenium injections. The clipping, medicating and injecting were all new experiences for me!
Nashoba is getting very wide and her udder is starting to develop….and she still has 30 days to go!
Our does are begining to look pregnant…especially Nashoba and Trace. I swear I felt babies as I gave them each a massage on the milk stand yesturday.
I cleared an area in the chicken run and spread out hay and hid cracked corn in it to give the chickens someting to do besides hang out in the coop. They are laying beautiful, large eggs…in spite of the snowy and cold winter weather.
